A man from Sandwich was arrested Saturday and charged with stealing from a cemetery storage building.

According to officials with the Dennis Police Department, 22 year-old Brian Paquette is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Orleans District Court. He is charged with breaking and entering a building in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony and larceny from a building. Police say a West Dennis resident called shortly after 3:35 a.m. to report the sound of heavy things being loaded into a truck. The sound was coming from the West Dennis Cemetery, police said.

According to Dennis Police Sergeant Cleve Daniels, responding officers found a Ford pickup truck parked next to a cement storage building on the cemetery grounds. The door of the building was ajar and landscaping supplies and power tools were inside the flatbed of the truck.

Pacquette was released on personal recognizance pending his arraignment.
