Rhode Island man sentenced to 6 years in prison for gun charges

A Rhode Island man was sentenced to 6 years in prison after violating a law that states that felons can not carry a weapon. The man was previously in jailed for shooting at a 16-year-old boy.

According to officials in the case, the 29-year-old man was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm after and was sentenced to nearly six years in prison as a result. The man has been linked to the Latin Kings gang.

The arrest for the most recent gun charges occurred just two months after he was released from prison for the shooting of the 16-year-old. The first shooting was  drive by case that occurred in 2001.
