DISMISSAL for Member of President Obama’s Security Team

An Air Force Sergeant was charged with sexually assaulting a female while the President was vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard during the 2011 summer. Edgartown Police also sought criminal charges against the Sergeant for a bar fight he is alleged to have initiated in an unrelated incident occurring on the same evening. At the Sergeant’s preliminary court hearing, the Edgartown Police laid out their evidence in support of their request for the criminal charges. Attorney Powderly successfully challenged the sufficiency of the evidence winning a finding that the case lacked probable cause resulting in a dismissal of the application for criminal complaint against his client.
