Authorities in Cape Cod say they have broken up a major drug ring operating in the area.

In a press conference in Falmouth on Thursday, federal, state, and local law enforcement officials said more than 20 people were arrested as part of a large scale drug trafficking operation. Authorities say the distribution ring trafficked in heroin and cocaine in Cape Cod and surrounding cities.

The U.S. attorney’s office in Boston, the FBI, the Cape Cod district attorney’s office, the Islands district attorney’s office, the U.S. Postal Service, as well as the Falmouth Police Department and the Mashpee Police Department participated in the press conference. Complete details of the ring’s operation have not been released. The names of the people arrested have also not been disclosed.
