A sixth member of the Ten Most Wanted Massachusetts Sex Offenders list was arrested in Seattle Wednesday.

According to officials with the Massachusetts State Police, 54 year-old Elwood J. Johnson was arrested at an apartment in Seattle Wednesday afternoon. The arrest was made after a trooper with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section contact the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and shared information on Johnson’s whereabouts.

Johnson will be arraigned at the King County Superior Court in Seattle later this week. Authorities will work to arrange for his rendition to Massachusetts.

In 1992, Johnson was convicted in Washington for rape of a child and is currently wanted by the Worcester Police Department for failure to register as a sex offender. He is also the subject of a warrant out of the state of Georgia for failure to register.

Johnson is the fifth member of the Top Ten Most Wanted Sex Offender List to be captured since the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board updated the list last month.
