What Is a Deposition?

A deposition is a form of testimony that can be submitted in court as evidence. Witnesses to an alleged crime are sometimes asked to give depositions, as are defendants in some cases. Depositions are usually given in lawyers’ offices, with attorneys from both sides of the case present. They are typically recorded on tape or video. If you give a deposition, you have the right to have your attorney present to offer you counsel.

If you are being investigated for an alleged offense, you need a lawyer who can protect your rights at every step of the legal process. Contact Cape Cod criminal defense attorney James Powderly at 508-343-0676 today.
