An East Falmouth woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges she drove to her child’s elementary school while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

According to Falmouth District Court documents, Denise Morad-Lanoue was arrested at North Falmouth Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon after a concerned citizen called police to report a motorist driving erratically on Route 151. Morad-Lanoue was found at the school sitting in the grass alone watching “mini field day,” court records state.

According to the arrest report, police administered several field sobriety tests, which Morad-Lanoue failed. She was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating under the influence of drugs, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Police searched Morad-Lanoue’s car, after she was in custody, and found three empty miniature bottles of Sutter Home wine in her purse, according to court records.

Morad-Lanoue was released from custody and is due back in court for a pretrial hearing July 20.
