The former head of a Cape Cod charity was arrested for shoplifting Wednesday.

According to officials with the Plymouth Police Department, Gina Clark was arrested for shoplifting at a department store Wednesday afternoon. Clark is the former president of Cape Cod charity Touched By Angels.

According to the Plymouth Police Department arrest report, Clark is accused of stealing clothes from a Kohl’s department store. Clark’s attorney, however, calls the situation a “big misunderstanding.” He claims it began when Clark forgot about some clothing she put underneath her shopping cart.

Clark was indicted by a grand jury earlier this year on charges that she kept money her charity raised for families in need.
