St. Albans man sentenced to 15 months for sex crime

A man from St. Albans was sentenced to 15 months in prison for a sex crime. According to court reports, the man pleaded guilty to sexually abusing his niece.

The man received 12 months for third-degree sexual abuse and 90 days for battery. The abuse apparently occurred more than 10 years ago, but the niece did not approach police until she was much older.

Escaped sex offender captured in Colorado

A convicted sex offender was captured in Colorado Monday. According to police reports, the sex offender escaped from a halfway house in Horizon City.

The man apparently escaped by removing his ankle monitor. The man was originally convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Virginia man convicted of child enticement of Massachusetts girl

A Virginia man was convicted of attempted kidnapping and child enticement. According to Massachusetts court reports, the man was convicted in Middlesex Superior Court.

The man apparently communicated with the girl over the Internet. Prosecutors argues that the man intended to bring the girl to Virginia and have sex with her.

Massachusetts man convicted for failing to register as sex offender

A Massachusetts man was found guilty of failing to register as a sex offender. According to court reports, the man was convicted of attempted child rape.

For the act, the man was sentenced to 4 to 5 years in prison, but the prison term was later reduced in a Supreme Judicial Court. After being released from jail, the man did not register as a sex offender. The man also faces child pornography charges.
