Criminals who are convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 may face imprisonment. According to state law, the convict may be punished for no more than 10 years in prison, or in a house of correction for no more than 2 and a half years.
While consent laws typically apply to other ages, any child under the age of 14 is deemed incapable of consenting to such conduct. Because these laws and punishments vary between states, contact the Massachusetts sex crime lawyer James Powderly at 508-343-0676.
